Artist Statement
I wished to focus on the concept of fantasy merging/existing with reality, showing a sense of reality within the impossible feats showing that they are indeed doable and that many paths await those who follow it. Einsteins quote greatly influenced my work as imagination does lead to many possibilities, whether by dream or stroke of reality. Showing that there are many possibilities in life that many would think that are impossible to accomplish or happen. These pieces represent fantasy concepts whether they may characters or themes. The "consequences" piece depicts a man stealing treasure from a dragon. This illustrates that one must see the possible results in their actions (dragon) whether by doing it heroically (armored) for the right actions or not. I also wanted to show the many traits of humans and that there are different outlooks on who they are and what their exterior hides. The "Two Faces" piece represents this, showing that a person may not be who they truly are and even hide who they are showing on the outside.
I have been greatly influenced by other artists mainly Midori Foo, a character designer for I plan on following this field of fantasy/sci-fi. I also yearn to practice more in realistic paintings which I started to grow fond of with the works of David Gray to incorporate in my series. Deviant artists have also inspired my work such as Sakimichan, with her digital pieces which depicts realistic people with manga/stylized feel and Khaoskai with his traditional works with watercolor and piece structure.
